MMA2 Clinches Nigeria’s ‘Best Domestic Terminal of the Year 2021 Award’

Emirates Suspends All Flights To Nigeria...Promises Resumption When GCAA And Nigeria CAA Resolve Lingering issue

Nigeria To Host ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event In 2022 (ICAN2022)

At the just concluded  thirteenth ICAO Air Services Negotiation (ICAN2021) Event  hosted by the Aeronautica Civil of Colombia from 6 to 10 December 2021  in Bogota, Colombia, it was announced that Nigeria will be the next host of the 2022 edition.   In an acceptance response, Sen. Musa   Nigeria Government has again suspended Emirates Airlines flights to Lagos but approves only one-weekly flight to Abuja due to how Air Peace was treated by denying the country’s only airline flying to Sharjah in United Arab Emirate(UAE) 3 slots but approved only one-weekly flight.   The withdrawal on Emirates takes  effect from December 12, 2021, Emirates Airlines can now fly into Abuja (Nigeria) just once weekly on Thursdays, while its Lagos flight is suspended.   Capt. IATA Says Travel Bans Against WHO’s Advice Threatens Air Transport Recovery

The International Air Transport Association (IATA)   has  warned that the imposition of travel bans by governments, against the advice of the World Health Organization (WHO), could threaten the sector’s recovery.  It  announced that the recovery in air travel continued in October 2021 with broad-based improvements in both domestic and international markets. ​​“October’s traffic performance reinforces that people will travel when they are permitted to. Omicron: ICAO Urges Countries To Adopt Evidence-Based Approach On Air Transport Restrictions, Issues New Global Bulletin

        The International Civil Aviation Organisation, ICAO,   i n line with the latest recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), ICAO issued a new global bulletin today urging a more measured and evidence-based approach to countries’ national air transport restrictions due to the emergence of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant.   ICAO discouraged pre-emptive style which some countries are embarking on by abruptly restricting air passengers from certain countries “ Until more detailed assessments are available, the UN aviation agency is encouraging countries to continue combatting the spread of COVID-19, and specifically the Omicron variant, using the  recommendations and guidance contained in the ICAO Council Aviation Recovery Task Force’s (CART) Take-off Guidance for Air Travel through the COVID-19 Public Health Crisis, in addition to the third edition of ICAO’s  Manual on COVID-19 Cross-Border Risk Management ,”said ICAO.   The new bulletin was issued under the authority o

Emirates Returns To Lagos And Abuja From Dec. 5 With Daily Flights

  Emirates  (EK)  will resume its passenger operations  on  between Dubai  to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja both in Nigeria  from 5 December 202 1 with daily services.     Emirates will operate to Abuja with EK 785 and 786. EK 785 will depart Dubai at 1100hrs, arriving in Abuja at 1540hrs. The return flight, EK 786 will take off from Abuja at 1900, arriving in Dubai at 0435hrs the next day.   Also,  flight EK 783 to Lagos will depart Dubai at 1030hrs, arriving in Lagos at 1540hrs. The return flight EK 784 will depart Lagos at 1810hrs, arriving in Dubai at 0415hrs the next day.
