President Buhari Recognises FAAN Staff Who Returned $12,200,000 Found At Lagos Airport

 The President of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari presented award of recognition to Mrs. Josephine Ugwu, a staff of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN who found and returned $12,200,000 at Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos in 2015 while working as a cleaner at the time.

According to Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, the General Manager Corporate Affairs to FAAN said, “Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), recognized a staff of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Mrs. Josephine Ugwu for her honesty and integrity in the discharge of her duties.”

Mrs. Yakubu said Ugwu was presented with the award at a two day summit on 'Diminishing Corruption in the Public Sector' jointly organized by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and ICPC in Abuja.

“You will recall that in a celebrated case in the year 2015, Mrs. Ugwu while carrying out her duties as a cleaner at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos saw the sum of $12,200,000 in a toilet and submitted it to security officials. The money was subsequently returned to the owner. She has also refunded other sums lost by several other passengers at different times,” said Yakubu.

“Mrs. Ugwu was subsequently given automatic employment by the Authority in recognition of her honesty and exemplary conducts.”

The event climaxed with a hand shake to Mrs. Ugwu from the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari. She was also given a brand new apartment in Lagos for her act of honesty and integrity.

Nigeria To Host ICAO Air Services Negotiation Event In 2022 (ICAN2022)

At the just concluded  thirteenth ICAO Air Services Negotiation (ICAN2021) Event  hosted by the Aeronautica Civil of Colombia from 6 to 10 December 2021  in Bogota, Colombia, it was announced that Nigeria will be the next host of the 2022 edition.   In an acceptance response, Sen. UAE Refused Air Peace 3 Slots Despite Getting 21 From Nigeria-Capt. Musa   Nigeria Government has again suspended Emirates Airlines flights to Lagos but approves only one-weekly flight to Abuja due to how Air Peace was treated by denying the country’s only airline flying to Sharjah in United Arab Emirate(UAE) 3 slots but approved only one-weekly flight.   The withdrawal on Emirates takes  effect from December 12, 2021, Emirates Airlines can now fly into Abuja (Nigeria) just once weekly on Thursdays, while its Lagos flight is suspended.   Capt.
